WOW, Bluetooth audio system

The XtremeMac Tango TRX 2.1 Bluetooth audio system allows users of iPhone, iPad and iPod touch (2nd gen) to stream their favourite songs wirelessly to the device.
Manufactured by Imation, the TRX also has a dock to hold and charge the iPhone or iPod Touch.
The audio system's two midrange drivers, two dome tweeters and a downward firing subwoofer produce clear and dynamic sound, the company claimed.

The TRX also has five buttons for controlling playback, bass, treble and other features directly.
You can also control the device using the bundled infrared remote or with a Tango TRX application that can be downloaded from the App Store for free.

The app turns the iPod, iPhone and iPad into a virtual remote and is identical to the physical remote in looks and features. The app also comes with a five-band equaliser that allows users to fine tune the audio output.
Also, both the remote and the Tango TRX app can be used to control the device's functions from up to 30ft (9.14m) away. However, the physical remote requires line-of-sight to work.

The audio system also features LED status indicators and a line-in jack for connecting other audio devices. The TRX retails for RM699.

Apple's app store fever

NEW YORK: Apple's app store has hit the 10 billion downloads mark. The milestone was announced on its website on Saturday.

The company has sold tens of millions of iPhones since the device launched in 2007 and continues to expand the use of apps with its iPad Tablet computer.

Its app store has drawn an army of software developers hoping to piggyback on the company's success. The store now boasts more than 350,000 different programs for the iPhone, iPad and iPod touch.

Apple said it would give the 10 billionth person to download an app a US$10,000 (RM32,000) gift card to its iTunes store, which now offers movies and TV shows along with digital music files.

The winner is Gail Davis of Orpington, Kent, in Britain. She downloaded a free game app called
Paper Glider. - AP

competitor for iPad & Samsung Galaxy Tab

Hewlett-Packard(HP) unveiled a TouchPad tablet computer as its entry in a booming market dominated by Apple's iPad.

HP senior vice-president Jon Rubinstein, who was part of the Apple team that brought the world the iPod, unveiled the Touchpad to applause in a pavilion on the San Francisco shoreline within sight of the Golden Gate Bridge.

"TouchPad is more than just a pretty face," Rubinstein said as he caressed one on stage." The TouchPad is all about you; how you work, play, and connect with the things you value most."

TouchPad will be the first  Tablet in a family of product based on a webOS software platform Palm began building from the ground up about five years ago.

HP last year bought Palm in a US$1.2bil ( RM3.bil) deal in what analysts believe  was a move to get its hand on the platform that could make it a player in the fast-growing market for smartphones and Tablet computers.

"No one has come close to replicating our webOS experience," said Rubinstein, who was chief executives of Palm when it was acquired by HP.

TouchPad weight about 0.7kg and has 9.7in display- the same weight and screen size as the iPad.

The tablet is built with a Qualcomm processor that is "screaming fast," according to Rubinstein.

HP did not disclose what TouchPad would be priced at when they debut in Europe and the United States in the middle of this year.

TouchPad software is crafted for easy multi-tasking and supports Adobe Flash software commonly used in online video. The Tablet also features a camera for video calling.

The iPad does not run Flash or have a camera.

TouchPad lauch partners will include digital magazine publisher such as Time and electronic book giant Amazon.

"We are making this a great platform for reading books by partnering with Amazon on Kindle software," Rubinstein said.

WedOS strengths included multitasking capabilities that allow for someone to pause while reading an e-book to take a video call, search out a webpage and print wirelessly to an an HP printer.

HP plans to use global resources to back the TouchPad along with an entire webOS "ecosystem" consisting of soon-to-be-released Veer and Pre 3 smartphones and a line of personal computers built on the platform.

HP said that webOS software in personal computers would complement, not replace, Windows operating systems made by longtime partner Microsoft,-AFP/Relaxnews 2011.

Samsung SF410 notebook

The Samsung SF410 notebook series delivers one-of-a-kind style and performance for those always on-the-go. And not only does its unique, slim and fluidic design set it apart, but its unrivalled performance – the state-of-the-art Intel® Core™ i5 Processor *, combined with a longer lasting battery, gives you the freedom to get out with the power to perform without the worry of where to recharge.

So, if you want more than just an eye catching design, other features include the 14.0" high resolution, wide-screen, LED backlit display that will certainly satisfy your needs, delivering a visually stunning video-watching experience. Also, with its Fast Start feature, faster connectivity options, and lightweight casing, you’ll quickly appreciate the perfect combination of portability and performance.
So stay fashionable and trendy, without compromising on performance, with your SF series notebook.

Start up Speed:

With your notebook in an advanced sleep mode, important data and system configurations are saved to the hard drive and into PC memory for quick access; when you lift the lid of your notebook, the innovative Fast Start feature brings your computer out of advanced sleep mode and into full-working mode in just 3 seconds. Fast Start function provides extra security and safety so that even if power is suddenly lost or battery is changed, there’s no data or information loss.

Samsung Recovery Solution:

In situations requiring important system information to be restored, the Samsung Recovery Solution automatically creates system restore points on your HDD, and allows your computer to reinstall important system information to these restore points, while improving the overall stability of your notebook.

EASY-TO-USE: The notebook's chiclet-style keyboard offers a comfortable typing experience while the trackpad supports multitouch gestures.

Multimedia performance:

The SF410's 14in display has a resolution of 1,366 x 768-pixels. It has good levels of contrast and brightness for watching movies and playing games.
We were able to play HD movies such as 300 in 720p but the notebook faltered when we tried 1080p videos. When we tried Scott Pilgrim vs. the World in 1080p, the playback was choppy at best.
Another disappointment is the screen's viewing angles which is poor for both horizontal and vertical.
This will pose a problem if you use the machine to edit images with a photo editor.
In terms of audio quality, the SF410's speakers are very loud and sounded good even when the volume was pushed all the way up.
The SRS 3D virtual sound also works and the experience was immersive when we tried playing songs, games and movies.
However, the speakers lacked the deep bass of a dedicated desktop speaker. This was especially pronounced when we played Gorillaz's bass-heavy Feel Good Inc and a few of other electric-guitar-heavy tracks from the Darkness.

GOOD LOOKING: The exterior view of the SF410.

Conclusion:

The Samsung SF410 will serve well as a travel notebook because it is reasonably portable and lightweight, and also has a long lasting battery.
It can double up as a multimedia machine for watching HD movies as long as you can settle for 720p quality.
It is also not too shabby in the gaming department, and is able to handle most older games. However, it struggles to handle new and graphics intensive games.
It comes with a slightly hefty price tag of RM3,199. That makes it pricier than most medium-range notebooks but you'll get what you are paying for as this notebook is packed with lots of features.

Pros:

Not too big or heavy; long battery life; can handle games and 720p HD movies; handy Fast Start function.

Cons:

Screen has poor viewing angles; speakers lack bass; can't play 1080p HD videos.

Pretty & powerful Lenovo Ideapad U460

From the Techcentral, found out an article written by Wendy Tan
Title is about Pretty and Powerful

This artivcle is talking about the Lenovo Idea pad U460
Design for this U460 was pretty also the sound hardware is so powerful .
This make the Lenovo Ideapad U460 great for everyday use.
It has a beautiful lid on it with an embossed criss-cross design.
The rest of the laptop has a brushed metal look.
On the other hand, weight of this product is just below 2kg.
Meanwhile, it is so slim you expect it to be fragile but it feels sturdy enough.
Overall look of this product is very professional and masculine.
Starts up for the Ideapad U460 pretty fast, but nags you to set up the fingerprint and/or face detection technology which may or may not interest you.
On the other hand, it is good to have it if you paranoid or require it for security reasons.
This product comes with only 2GB RAM, that is more than enough for Window 7 unlike its memore hog predecessor Vista.

The LCD on the U460 is not crystal clear or bright as other displays and looked rather disappointing when compared to others notebooks.
Also, the U460 comes with a utility that detect ambient light and adjusts the display's brightness accordingly.

The keyboard is also little quirky . It is the standard Qwerty keyboard except it has some awkwardly placed keys that are too close to the Delete key.
For instance, when working on a document, we almost always ended up hitting the Home key by accident when we're trying to delete some letters.

Pros: Looks pretty; has fast processor and graphic chip;affordable.
Cons: Display could be better; awkwardly placed keys.

Below link is the quick specs about the product  that I would like to show in a table form:

The E220 has a 12.5in screen and the E420 has a 14in display, and both have a chic and eye-catching design. The more portable of the two, the E220s measures less than an inch thick and weighs less than 1.58kg. The slightly larger E420 is one inch thick and weighs 1.81kg. Internally, the E220 and E420 can be configured to run on a second-generation Intel Core i3, i5 or i7 processor, and include a hard disk with up to 320GB of storage space.
